I love faux trees because they require zero maintenance and instantly bring life into any space in the home! Sometimes faux trees can come in planters that don’t match my home aesthetic, but I found an easy way to style them to give a more elevated and real look. I’ve linked all my supplies here to get the same look. I’ve linked all the products I used below so you can shop the look too!

Step 1: Use an oversized planter to style your faux tree

Using an oversized planter is key to making your faux tree more grand and designer. I even added sliders to the bottom to make it easy to move around the house.

Step 2: Fill the planter with styrofoam

Next, fill your planter with styrofoam and place the tree on top of the styrofoam. Make sure to put the styrofoam under and around the faux tree. Adding styrofoam will lift up the tree inside the planter so it looks taller and larger in the oversized planter. You can purchase styrofoam at your local hardware store or use some leftover from packages if you have it in your house!

Step 3: Style faux tree with moss

After adding in the styrofoam and faux tree to the planter, cover with a cardboard cutout. Then, add a layer of Spanish moss on top to hide the materials you used to lift the tree.

Step 4: Add a spotlight to highlight your faux tree

Next, place a wireless spotlight inside the moss so the base is hidden but the bulb is still peeking through. Adding a spotlight will illuminate the tree at night and make it look even more luxe!

Step 5: Shape the tree

Last but not least, make sure the tree looks the way you want it to and more realistic. You can fluff out the branches or even trim them to get the desired shape! I like to keep them looking a little imperfect to make it look more real!

Thanks for following my 5 easy steps to style faux trees to look way more expensive and designer than when it arrived. Repeat this for all the trees in your home and your friends will be begging you to tell them where you got your luxe faux trees!
